In October 2016, James and his family moved from the Midwest United States to the Adventure Capital of the World: New Zealand. Based in beautiful Queenstown on the South Island, James is enjoying an active outdoor lifestyle, working on a few U.S. tech ventures and pursuing several new business interests.

Prior to moving to New Zealand, James was principal and chief strategist at Vitamin J, a B2B Digital Agency. James and his team provided digital, brand and marketing services to growth-oriented tech ventures and private B2B businesses who wanted to more effectively compete in the Digital Age. James is founder of PatentStatus, an intellectual property law software company that provide virtual marking, patent utilization mapping and other IP software services to large corporations. The company has won numerous tech start-up awards since it’s launch in 2011 and continues to operate in the States.

James is was an advisory board member of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s Small Business Development Centers. He is a contributing editor to The Social Media Bible (J.W. Wiley Publishing, May 2009).

Prior to his current endeavors, James founded Project Brilliant – a digital strategy and innovation consultancy. He also founded and led mobile app development and strategy firm Mobiltopia where they design and build apps and mobile sites for iPhone and Android Smartphones.  Earlier in his career, James led high-profile initiatives for publicly traded broadcast and publishing groups directing Internet strategy, sales, marketing, product development and social media initiatives at Gannett and LIN Media.
