The newest book I’m reading is Creative Confidence: Unleashing the Creative Potential Within Us All.
The book is written by Tom and David Kelley, principals at innovation powerhouse firm IDEO and highlights how to recognize and bring out the creative traits in everyone, not just those who self-identify as creative.
The premise of the book is that too often, companies and individuals assume that creativity and innovation are the domain of the “creative types.”
In an incredibly entertaining and inspiring narrative that draws on countless stories from their work at IDEO, the Stanford d.school, and with many of the world’s top companies, the authors identify the principles and strategies that encourage you to tap into your creative potential and allow you to think differently about how you approach and solve problems.
I’m about 15% through the book at the time of this posting and so far the breakout sections and examples have kept me engaged.
